The Shelf Shop

I am a designer. This is my second order of 2 floating shelves - one that’s just a shelf and the other that can hold wine glasses. The shelves are very high quality, painted professionally (colors match samples exactly), packaged securely, includes all mounting hardware, and shipped earlier than expected to meet my deadline. This is a SOLID product by a SOLID company.

My new shelf looks so great over my bed and it was amazingly easy to install!

I did quite a bit of web research on floating shelf vendors and selected The Shelf Shop due to their competitive price (for the quality) and customization options. I worked with Andrew Gilchrest entirely online and had an easy time getting to what I wanted, including a custom stain color for which I was NOT charged extra! He answered all my questions quickly and clearly. Once the order was settled, the product was shipped in about 2 weeks (they promised 2-3 weeks) and arrived on time and in perfect condition. Nobody's perfect, but these guys come as close as anyone can. Check them out!

The two shelves I ordered look like they have wonderful construction, and appear well-made. However, I have an appointment for someone to come and hang them so I haven’t been able to utilize them yet. Ask me later. Maybe two weeks from now.

Samples are a nice size (3.5" square), and liked that you could order as many as you liked. However, the 'free shipping' isn't quite accurate. Maybe if you only order 1 sample it's free, but I ordered 3 and the PO charged me $3.74 in overdue postage.

The selves are well built and look gray. Very easy to install. However they are a painted brown. I was expecting a stain color so the nature wood grain would show! I must of ordered wrong . My mistake. David G

I think I will do the custom color to match my cabinets. I need some advice re how many shelves to get and the size and the type. If I take pictures, will you advise me?

The long awaited shelves were well built and very easy to install. I guess we chose a solid brown paint color instead of medium brown stain color! We were expecting to see some wood grain in the finish. They are a solid bown They are so well finished my wife thinks they look like they are built out of plastic. They look good, however. I guess I should have been more clear on what we were looking for. I’m going to buy some wood veneer to apply over the front surfaces to get that wood grain look.

We replaced our upper kitchen cabinets with floating shelves from the Shelf Shop, including two wine shelves and three corner shelves, and we could not be more pleased. The satin black finish on the shelves is perfect, and the extra careful packaging ensured we had no blemishes. The installation instructions were very clear, and I have no doubt we will enjoy our beautiful shelves for many years. We are very grateful we found the Shelf Shop and recommend them without any hesitation to our friends and family.

My 4 floating shelves were installed today and they look great! I am 5 star happy. The higher price then most shelves is reflected in the quality and beauty.
